Power of Soul with lines of What's Your Favourite Colour
The show was attended by an eight-year old boy, who was offered an excellent place on stage by Dennis - cool! The band had an extended foto shoot with this boy after the show.
The band dedicated Flying to a friend whose name I couldn't figure out-sorry for that. Corey did lines like "I need music over my head" and "bring me to the river/wash me in the water" if I figured out correctly. Don't know whether these lines are from lyrics. At least the latter sound religious.

Living Colour - 6 questions - Thanks Fanch!
Thanks to Fanch !
www.myspace.com/fanchbigouden
1 – Last year, « The Very Best Of » was out, and lots of people discovered the band and your music. Was it your your main wish ?
Will Calhoun : Yes
2 – You will in Europe and in France in July at "Le New Morning". Will we have some new songs on stage, or some new mixes of your old songs ?
WC - A combination of both new and old.
3 – A the beginning, you were the first band playing some Rock Fusion. Did you consider that you really invented and created a style of rock music ?
WC - No...we were not the first, if you listen to Hendrix, the Isley Brothers, Parliment Funkadelic, the Chambers Brothers, and many more, you will realize we were not the first. Living Colour is influenced by Hip-Hop, Hard Rock, Dub, drum-n-bass and many other forms of electronic music, Afro-Cuban/Latin music- the Blues, Jazz, Harmolodic Jazz, etc. Our style is heavily influenced by the African American Pioneers who created the music for the World- and the music we grew up listening to in our daily lives.
4 – What about "The Black Rock Coalition" ? Could you explain us the role of the association, and your partnership with them ? YOU SHOULD LET VERNON REID ANSWER THIS QUESTION SINCE HE IS ONE OF THE FOUNDING MEMBERS.
5 – Now, LIVING COLOUR is back. So, what about your own and solo project now Is it stopped ?
WC - No we are always working on music....you can visit...www.myspace.com/nativelands or www.willcalhoun.com for my updates. When Living Colour releases a new product the new project will be our main focus, and our side projects will take a back seat.
6 – At last, when will you record a brand new album, and when will it be out, please ?
We began full time writing/working on new music in Aug. 2007. We started on a few ideas during the Spring. We are not certain when the product will be released and how, the music industry has changed; we are looking into the best possibilities to get our music to people.
Thanks them for me. have a nice day. Take care.

Jam with lines of What's Your Favouite Colour
Half an hour before kick-off, only two hundred people or so were present. I was embarrassed, though I could imagine such a show-up at Helmond (of all places) during holiday season. To my relief, the venue was rather packed during the show, which was announced energetically, and the crowd was responsive.
The band was on steam (It's Saturday, do you wanna party?) and they played great. Especially Corey doing fragments of American skin gave me such a weird feeling. Firstly, the words "you get killed just for living" during this 9-11 song Flying. Secondly, my remembrance of the 2001 show @ Cologne. That night, the band performed the full song, building it up layer on layer, and apocalypsing with Will hamering 41 times on his drums and Corey crying on stage. And with him many people. After the song, ALL people were quiet - no more "we want more's". Never had such a serene moment in my life before.
Furtermore, the improvisation on Papa was a Rolling Stone was some kind of serious joke, since it was Mick who pushed the band. And I had difficulty in sorting out the intro of Sacred Ground. It might as well have been In your Name, too, though Nader got it right ;-)
After the show, the band came out to sign the dvd and Will's new cd+dvd Native Lands. And for a chat! Oh boy, what a night :-)
Peace, René

Living Colour @ Jazz Club - London Setlist
Well it turns out that the place was packed wall to wall after all, which is good because it means they will be back.
It was a great gig, some of the audience was a little tired, including me as I was a bid ill, so there was not the normal Moshing I have seen at all the London gigs.
The Setlist was :
Type
Middle Man
Funny Vibe
Wall
Memories Can't Wait
Sacred Ground
Glamour Boys
Go away
Bless those (a new song by Doug and a very good song Doug said it will
be on the new album)
Ignorance is Bliss
A drum solo (there was naturally more then one drum solo and a base
solo and a guitar solo in there somewhere)
Flying
Cult
On core
Love Rears its ugly head
a Jam and then
Times Up
(thanks Darren)

Living Colour @ Lent Festival setlist/review (thanks SLOfan)
The show was great!
I also thought that Elvis is dead with Maceo is a sure thing, but I was wrong L
Here's the set list.
Memories Can't Wait
Type
Middle Man
Funny Vibe
In Your Name
Sacred Ground
Open Letter ...
Glamour Boys (with Corey ending with 'I'm much too old to keep up with fashion these days')
Go Away
Bless Those
Ignorance Is Bliss
Flying
Love Rears
Time's up
The list had the Cult Of Personality and Tomorrow never knows as encores, but the band didn't go of stage but went straight into COP, the show was running a bit late, and then went of stage, only to return and surprise with extended What's your favorite color jam.
Guys were having a lot of fun, but must have been running out of ‘steam’. Probably from jetlag. Will flew in just hours before the show.
The show was recorded from the first row by a photo camera, so you can expect some close shots but distorted sound, since V was loud as always J
I'm catching their show in Bluesiana (Austria) on 11th and I'm hopping they will have their live DVD as I would really like to get my hands on a signed copy.
Play it loud!
