Crosstown Traffic

This gig was even better than Paradiso's. Everybody seemed in a good mood. Vernon was joking continuously, culminating in a Crosstown Traffic improvisation. Guess he waited for an Hummer tour bus ;-) However, the crowd was a bit mild - maybe the magic of the Paradiso venue was missed, or people were tired or had a stiff neck from the previous show! BTW: Middle Man seems spelled with Vernon breaking a string, after Doug's mic problems...

I was unfamiliar of any of Kings X material, but was treated to a rapid and inspiring education by Mr Doug Pinnick as all were.If any at all were disappointed with the abscence of Corey Glover, they soon forgot their anxieties as Mr Pinnick gave his whole heart. Those who were priveleged to make his acquaintance were met with a warm, gracious and wise soul!!! Mr Pinnick, market your face cream because you are no where near your 56 years!!!

Bless Those (Dougalow song. BRILLIANT!!!! Grungy and wholesome bass, very much a cool Sugar Hill Baseline!!)
Cross Town Traffic (Hendrix would be applauding!! Excellently done!!)

In all, we were reminded of why Dougalow(Mr Wimbish), Will Calhoun and Vernon Reid are A REAL BAND, that get's better if that is at all possible. After the show, they mingled and shared their experiences, musicianship and love. Most well celebrated musicians would not give us mere mortals the time of day, but they did!!

Best Regards

Angela
