Vernon Reid signed guitar pick contest

this post was taken from the yahoo group SACRED GROUND; basically, if you or anyone that you know bought a numbered/signed Vernon Reid pick from the Collideoscope tour please read cafefully!!!.

Hello All,

I've just gotten off the phone with Vernon. We had a conversation regarding the signed picks that were sold in 2003 and that we never had a contest because of the illegibility of the list.

Well, that's all about to change!

If you (or someone that you know) has purchased the pick AND can send me (off-list) a (clear, meaning signature and number MUST be legible; no exceptions! This is how we'll verify ownership.) JPEG of the pick with your name, email and shipping information, Vernon will randomly pick three entries.

The first place will receive one of Vernon's personal effects pedals (autographed), in working condition. The second and third place will receive an autographed promo CD.

Note: The pedal and CD choice will be made by Vernon.

As we plan on doing this again in the near future (with a better registration method), we are going to set the deadline for this contest for Sept.30, 2005 at 11:00 PM Eastern Time. Any submissions after that will not be accepted. The winners will be notified via email within the following week.

SO... Go dig out those picks and make it happen!!!

Best of luck to ya!!!

Peace, Diamond

*The deadline is being extended until Monday, October 10 @ Midnight
Eastern Time (Sunday night, to be specific...)

lc blog note, if you do not wish to join the sacred ground group to contact Dennis, i can forward any jpeg to Dennis himself and cc you as well

Wednesday, September 28th : woodstock film festival

Bernie Worrell and the Strangers will perform at the Bearsville Theatre at 8:00 PM for the opening night concert. Special guest appearances include Danny Louis of Gov’t Mule and Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun of Living Colour.

BERNIE WORRELL & THE STRANGERS
featuring Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish

Bernie Worrell & the Strangers with special guest appearances by Gov't Mule's Danny Louis and Uncle Funk featuring: Joe Beesmer, Jesse Gress, Pete Levin, and Jerry Marotta.

BERNIE WORRELL & THE STRANGERS

Living Parliament? Funkadelic Colour? We're not sure what it is, but it rocks. With a backbeat provided by resident stampede impersonator, Will Calhoun, and a groove from Doug Wimbish that is deeper than the needle's made on your Physical Graffitti vinyl, Bernie Worrell flies anywhere and everywhere on his magic carpet woven together from waveforms of all creeds and colors. Is it possible that three people are responsible for all of these sounds? Yep, they're guilty.

It wouldn't be too farfetched to call Bernie Worrell the Zelig of funk. Back in the day, he was alongside Clinton, Bootsy and everybody else who was in the deep funk of things as the musical director of Parliament Funkadelic. Throughout the years, he's popped up time and again--like an ivory-tickling, versatile Waldo--in the most intriguing places: performing with musical outfits like Bootsy's Rubber Band and Mos Def's rap-rock supergroup Black Jack Johnson; collaborating with the Talking Heads and eventually ending up in their magnificent concert film Stop Making Sense; and backing up every rapper to come out of the West Coast (in sampled form, of course). Now that he's on tour with his own backup crew, the Strangers featuring Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish of Living Color, folks can rest assured that, in these less-than-funky times, there is still one man out there who is willing to deliver the funk--by any means necessary.
